Al-Mandalawi confirms Parliament's full support for efforts to host Basra for the Gulf 25

    The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, confirmed on Wednesday, the full support of Parliament's for efforts to host Basra for the Gulf 25, while calling on all parties to cooperate with the Supreme Committee supervising the tournament.


    The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mohsen Al-Mandalawi received in his private office the Minister of Youth and Sports Ahmed Al-Mubarqa and the Governor of Basra Asaad Al-Eidani," noting that "the latest developments regarding hosting The city of Basra for the 25th Gulf Championship at the beginning of next year.” He added, “The latest developments in the work of the Supreme Committee supervising the championship, which is chaired by Al-Mubarqa, were discussed, and the final touches to the preparations were completed."


    Al-Mandalawi appreciated "the work of the committee, its activity, and its high coordination with all ministries and concerned authorities locally and in the Gulf," expressing "the support of the legislative authority with all capabilities for the efforts aimed at making the city of Basra host a success for the Gulf (25)."

    It stressed, "This is considered the great and important sporting event for Iraq, as it is a great opportunity to reflect the bright image of the country, and to deliver a message to the whole world to establish security in it, and most importantly to restore the leading sporting position among the Arab brothers."


    Al-Mandalawi received today the President of the Iraqi Football Association, Captain Adnan Darjal, stressing "the importance of continuing and increasing the volume of cooperation between the Ministry of Youth, the Federation and the rest of the relevant authorities for the success of this important sporting event for Iraq, as it will restore the confidence of the International Football Association and the whole world in the security situation in the country."
