Rashid and Barzani stress the adoption of dialogue on files between Baghdad and Erbil

    The President of the Republic, Abdul al-Latif Jamal Rashid, and the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, stressed the need for concerted efforts to preserve the country's stability and sovereignty, while stressing the importance of adopting dialogue on files between Baghdad and Erbil.
     
    The Presidency of the Republic said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the President of the Republic,  Abdul al-Latif Jamal Rashid, received today, at the Baghdad Palace, the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, and his accompanying delegation," noting that "the issue of the displaced and the difficult living conditions in which they suffer from it in the displacement camps, and they agreed on the need for joint action to improve their living conditions, and to make joint efforts to ensure a safe and stable return of all the displaced to their homes and cities.
     
    During the meeting "developments in the security, political and economic conditions were discussed, and support for the federal government's steps in implementing its program, which aims to meet the citizens' need to improve living and service conditions," noting that "relations with neighboring countries were discussed, which must be built on the basis of mutual respect and common interests, and the emphasis on concerted efforts to preserve Iraq's stability and sovereignty.”
     
    On the outstanding issues between the federal government and the regional government, "President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid and President of the Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani stressed the need to adopt constructive dialogue and expedite the approval of pending laws in the Iraqi parliament, and to reach solutions in accordance with the constitution and the law that achieve social justice and equality among all components of the people and meet their needs.”
