The General Authority of Customs announced today, Monday, the seizure of large quantities of smuggled medicines at the northern entrance to Baghdad, indicating that the medicines came from Kurdistan.
The Director-General of the Customs Authority, Shaker Al-Zubaidi, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "A large quantity of smuggled medicines was seized at the northern entrance to Baghdad, coming from the Kurdistan region," noting that "the seized medicines of various types are not hygienically stored and did not obtain Fundamental approvals.
He added that "the seizures are considered smuggled materials according to the customs law," noting that "the operation was carried out based on prior information from our members in coordination with the customs police."
