AIFI seized tons of smuggled medications, closed unlicensed pharmacies in three provinces

    The Security Media Cell announced on Monday, confiscating tons of smuggled medicines and closing number of unlicensed pharmacies in three provinces.
     
    SMC said in a statement , received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "The Agency of Intelligence and Federal Investigation continues its security Ops to pursue the organized crime members who jeopardize the lives of citizens , and those who traffic in smuggled and unlicensed medicines, as the forces of AIFI enabled to arrest of suspects in Dhi Qar province who traded in smuggled and unlicensed drugs while smuggling drugs in private refrigerators, noting that "the accused were  arrested and in  their possession (863,286 cartons of those drugs of various kinds)."
     
     
    SMC also added that " number of medicines were also seized during the inspection operation in the same province, as well as the closure of (6) bogus clinics practicing the profession of medicine without approvals to practice the profession, (6) pharmacies and a store containing large quantities of medicines in Diyala governorate," noting that the seizure of an unlicensed store in Kirkuk governorate contained 780 cartons of different types of medicines.
     
    The statement pointed out that "All the necessary legal measures have been duly taken against the accused and seized materials.”
