BAGHDAD-INA
Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Al-Sayyed Ahmed al-Safi, confirmed Thursday that the religious authority is present and watching the scene, while noting that the fatwa of obligatory jihad united the ranks.
Al-Safi said, during his speech at the Sixth Cultural Fatwa Festival in Holy Karbala, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Iraq went through a very difficult period before the fatwa of obligatory jihad," stressing that "the decision of the fatwa for obligatory jihad is historical, national and religious."
He added, "The timing of the fatwa for obligatory jihad was successful," wondering by saying: "Who brought the country to before the fatwa?", stressing that "there is no ability to control change except the fatwa of obligatory jihad that stopped the terrorist gangs of ISIS."
He pointed out that "the supreme reference is present and is watching the scene and has warned of many matters related to the country," adding that "the supreme reference has said that a nation that loses its will cannot defend itself."
He stressed, "History must be present among us," warning that "a nation that closes its ears will fall into the quagmire."
He continued, "The most important of those who believe that the strife has ended," stressing "the documentation of the championships in the liberation battles."
