The head of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), Faleh Al-Fayyad, confirmed on Monday that the fatwa of sufficient jihad changed the course of events, while indicating that PMF will not be a party in any political dispute.
Al-Fayyad said in his speech during the annual conference to commemorate the eighth anniversary of the fatwa of sufficient jihad and the establishment of the Popular Mobilization Forces, that “Awareness is the lethal weapon that we must adhere to,” noting that “the crowd derives its strength from the people, the religious reference and martyrs.”
He explained, "The fatwa of the sufficient jihad of the Religious Authority achieved a great leap for the Iraqi people, changed the course of events and made the nation, and PMF will continue to raise the flag of Iraq without any retreat," noting that "the fatwa moved the Iraqi youth from a state of defeat to challenge and confrontation, and created a new spirit to confront the threat to Iraq."
During his speech, Al-Fayyad warned, "Against falsifying public opinion and its effects and dangers to Iraq and its people."
"PMF was able to achieve a great victory over the terrorist Daesh, especially since it is from all the components of the people and will not take the side of any group over another," Al-Fayyad added.
The head of the Popular Mobilization Forces thanked the leader of the Sadrist movement, Sayyed Muqtada Al-Sadr, regarding the statement he issued yesterday on PMF," stressing that "PMF is a guarantor of security and will not be biased to any political party, and the resources of the crowd will not be used by any political group."
