Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein and Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans stressed today, Sunday, the need not to allow terrorism to exploit the current events in Syria.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein received Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans and his accompanying delegation at the ministry building in Baghdad."
"The discussion focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and the Netherlands, especially in the areas of military and intelligence cooperation within the efforts to combat terrorism. The two sides also discussed the latest security developments in the region, while stressing the need not to allow terrorism to exploit the current events in Syria."
"During the meeting, Fuad Hussein reviewed the Iraqi vision regarding the current situation and developments in Syria from the political and security aspects, stressing the importance of continuing coordination between the two countries and exchanging visits with the aim of exchanging experiences and enhancing joint cooperation."
At the end of the meeting, the two parties stressed "the importance of the active role of the international community in supporting Syria and its people, after the great suffering during the past years."
