Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA) explained the reasons for the momentum of the numbers of Iraqi pilgrims at the Saudi airport, confirming that all airlines sent their planes to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to bring pilgrims to Baghdad and the provinces.

The spokesman for ICAA, Jihad Al-Diwan, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Iraqi airspace was closed due to dust storms, therefore the flights to bring pilgrims were suspended, which caused a momentum in the number of passengers on planes."

He added, "There is contact with the Saudi aviation authority, and when the airspace opened, all airlines sent their planes to bring pilgrims to Baghdad and other provinces."
