The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, prime minster Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, arrived Saturday, in the western areas of Anbar Governorate to supervise the launch of Operations of Solid Will.
A statement by the Prime Minister's Media Office received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Al-Kadhimi arrived in Anbar to supervise the launch of Operations of Solid Will - The Second Phase to pursue the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs in the west of the country."
The statement added, "The commanders of the military operations of Anbar, Al-Jazeera and Karbala, and the forces of the Border Guard Command and the Popular Mobilization Forces in western Anbar and the middle Euphrates, are participating in the military Operations of Solid Will in its second phase, with air support from the army's aviation and the Air Force, supported by a great intelligence effort and accurate information from intelligence agencies."
“Forces from the Counter-Terrorism Service, the Special Forces, the Rapid Response Division, the special missions in the Federal Police and other military units are carrying out specific operations towards specific targets in different areas through airborne forces using helicopters, including ambushes deep in the desert," the statement continued.
