A senior officer in the Sumer Operations Command was martyred today, Wednesday, during the resolution of a clan dispute in Dhi Qar Governorate.
A reporter for the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "a security force intervened to resolve a clan conflict in Dhi Qar Governorate, which led to the martyrdom of Brigadier General Ali Jamil in the Sumer operations intelligence."
The reporter added that "the battles are still going on."
The Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant-General Abdul-Amir Rashid Yarallah, mourned the martyrdom of Brigadier General Ali Jamil, and stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "With more sadness and sorrow, we received the news of the martyrdom of Brigadier General Ali Jamil Abdul Khalaf, Director of the Intelligence Department of the Sumer operations Command, during the resolution of a clan conflict in Dhi Qar Governorate, Shatrah District.
He added, "We extend our condolences to his honorable family, and we pray to Allah Almighty to inspire them patience and solace and to cover him with his wide mercy and dwell in his paradise."
