The title holder Bayer Leverkusen returned with a valuable victory from the stadium of its host Borussia Dortmund with a score of 3-2 in the summit of the matches of the 16th round of the German Football League.

Leverkusen started the match strongly and surprised the home team by scoring two goals in the first eight minutes through Nathan Tella in the first minute and Patrick Cech in the eighth minute.

Jamie Bello-Gittens scored a goal to reduce the difference for Dortmund in the 12th minute, but Cech returned to shake the net again by scoring the third goal for Leverkusen in the 19th minute.

Serhou Guirassy scored the second goal for Dortmund from a penalty kick in the 78th minute, but it was not enough to prevent Leverkusen from achieving victory away from home.

Leverkusen reached 35 points, one point behind leaders Bayern Munich, who will be visiting Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday evening. Dortmund, after suffering their first home defeat in the league this season, froze at 25 points in sixth place.
