Baghdad-INA
The Minister of Transport, Nasser Hussein Al-Shibli, confirmed today, Tuesday, the promotion of air transport with four modern aircraft during the current year, while specifying the body responsible for holding non-governmental carriers accountable.
Al-Shibli said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Iraqi fleet for air transport is one of the best fleets in the region," noting that "we own 33 aircraft and we hope that four new ones will be added, bringing the total number to 37 aircraft during the current year," noting that "All those planes are modern."
In response to citizens' complaints about the decline in the level of services on some non-governmental national carriers, al-Shibli confirmed, "The file of accounting for these carriers is within the Civil Aviation Authority, which has separated from the ministry and is supposed to impose fines, which is a right of the Iraqi citizen."
Earlier, the Minister of Transport, in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), confirmed the existence of a contract with Boeing to receive modern planes of the "Ben Liner" and "Airbus" types.
