The deputy of the State Duma (Russian parliament) and well-known Russian artist, Denis Maidanov, believes that it is necessary to establish an all-Russian television music festival, which you might call “ethnovedic”.

This is similar to the European “Eurovision” television festival, in which Russian artists will not participate in light of the recent developments in Ukraine.

He said, “He considered that a public television music festival should appear in Russia and suggested that we give it the designation ‘Athnovedene.’ He also suggested that the festival should be held every year on November 4, which is the Russian Unity Day.”

According to the artist, bands, singers and singers representing all Russian regions should participate in the festival. The festival, according to the artist, will showcase the multiplicity and diversity of cultures of the peoples of our country and their ability to believe in preserving customs and traditions on the one hand, and the spirit of contemporary music on the other.

He added that the project will be nominated for a financial grant provided by the Russian Cultural Initiatives Foundation.

It is noteworthy that the aforementioned initiative was presented by the artist, Denis Maidanov, at a meeting of the Cultural Committee of the Russian State Council.
