SMC : A soldier martyred, policemam wounded while arresting a wanted man in Baghdad

Security Media Cell announced Monday the martyrdom of a soldier and the injury of a policeman during an arrest operation for a wanted man in Baghdad.

A statement by the cell, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "a joint force conducted a search operation in accordance with the provisions of Article 406, for a person wanted in three murders in Sector 61 of Sadr City, east of Baghdad."

The statement added that "during the arrest process, the criminal opened fire on the force carrying out the duty, which led to the martyrdom of a soldier from the 42nd Brigade and the injury of a policeman," noting that "this wanted man was killed after the security forces clashed with him."
