Spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yehia Rasool, announced Sunday the arrest of 8 terrorists in four governorates.
spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Yehia Rasool, said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "According to the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, the Counter-Terrorism Service continues its precise operations that uproot the remains of ISIS elements in Iraqi cities, as the Counter-Terrorism Service implemented two qualitative operations in the provinces of Anbar and Salah al-Din resulted in the arrest of (6) terrorists from the terrorist gangs of ISIS.
In a separate operation, Rasool added, "A tight ambush was set up by our security forces in Babylon, which resulted in the arrest of a terrorist element hiding among the citizens;" noting that "in coordination with the Asayish of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq - Sulaymaniyah Governorate, a wanted terrorist gang member was arrested."
He added, "The greatest burden in efforts to combat terrorism and dry up its sources lies with the heroes of Special Operations, as they are skilled in thought, professional training and the ability to carry out the most difficult duties entrusted to them. They are able to confront terrorist gangs in all their forms and names, no matter how strong and organized they are."
