The Ministry of Justice announced on Saturday that 1,476 individuals were released in 2024.
According to a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the total number of detainees released from all sections of the Juvenile Reform Directorate in Baghdad and other provinces from January 1 to December 31, 2024, was 1,476, as per the Directorate’s statistical report.
The statement added that the released individuals included 766 juveniles, 451 who completed their sentences, 3 juveniles released following an appellate decision, and 256 granted conditional release due to good behavior and successful completion of rehabilitation programs, as recommended by social research departments and approved by judicial authorities.
