Fire breaks out in two tankers loaded with fuel in Basra

    INA - BAGHDAD

    The Civil Defense Directorate announced on  Wednesday, that a fire broke out in two fuel tanks in Umm Qasr district, Basra Governorate.

    "Civil Defense teams seized a fire incident that broke out inside two tanks with a capacity of (36,000) liters, each loaded with gasoline, near a fuel station in Umm Qasr district, Basra,” according to a statement by the Civil Defense Directorate, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA). 

    He added, "The civil defense teams seized off and isolated the fires, as well as removed the risk of the spread to the station near the accident site without causing human casualties while limiting the material damage,”

    The civil defense requested to open an investigation at the police station responsible for the geographical area, based on the report of the expert evidence to determine the cause of the fire in the first place.
