Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar set the volume of Iraq's exports in the first quarter of 2022, while confirming Iraq's commitment to OPEC's parameters.
Abdul-Jabbar told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "OPEC's policy is not to reduce or raise prices, but rather works to achieve stability in energy supplies in the world," noting that "OPEC's goal is to prevent the collapse in oil prices and prevent a sharp rise in prices, and there is no goal to reach a certain price, but the main goal is to achieve stability."
He added, "OPEC is proceeding with a natural increase of about 400,000 barrels per month, and there will be a re-review during the first quarter of 2022 to consider maintaining this increase," noting that "Iraq aims to reach 3 million and 200 thousand barrels of its southern crude oil export facilities.”
He continued, "The specific portion for the region is 250 thousand barrels per day," noting that "Iraq is committed to the limitations of OPEC and all decisions agreed upon by the partners."
Abdul-Jabbar stressed, "It is assumed that in the first quarter of 2022 we will reach 3 million and 400 thousand barrels, which is our share in the market," noting that "Iraq will not exceed the proportion and does not ask for an exception in order to achieve stability in this direction."
