Salih receives a written message from Macron

    The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received Today, Wednesday a written message from French President Emmanuel Macron.
    Media office of the President of the Republic stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Saleh received today at al salam Palace in Baghdad the French ambassador to Iraq Eric Chevalier."
     
    The statement added that "Ambassador Chevalier conveyed a written message from French President Emmanuel Macron to President Barham Salih, which included his thanks and appreciation for the warm reception during his recent visit to a number of Iraqi cities, and his appreciation for the efforts made by Iraq to support its security and internal stability and its tireless endeavors to establish peace in the region, and ease its tensions." In it, he stressed that France will remain an essential partner for Iraq through joint economic and political cooperation.
     
    The statement indicated that "President Saleh conveyed, through the ambassador, his greetings to President Macron."
                                                                                                                   
    Salih stressed, "Iraq's aspiration to strengthen and develop bilateral relations and ways to enhance them towards more joint bilateral cooperation to serve the common interests of the two peoples, and work to establish peace in the region."
     
    he also indicated that "the balanced policy of Iraq is based on supporting its security and stability and restoring Iraq to its pivotal active role in the region," noting that "Iraq looks forward to cooperation in issues of combating terrorism, economic and commercial cooperation, and working closely in the field of environmental protection and addressing the significant effects of climate change."
