The spokesman for the Joint Operations, Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji, said, in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The coalition forces' mission is to carry out reconnaissance and carry out air strikes, in addition to provide logistical support, but they do not have aircraft or air defense weapons to hand them over to Iraq after their withdrawal at the end of this year."
Al-Khafaji explained that "the thermal cameras have achieved amazing results by monitoring the infiltration mechanism, and there are daily monitoring operations to follow up infiltrators and terrorists in all operations sectors," noting that "Iraq paid the price of thermal cameras to the coalition forces."
