Security Media Cell – SMC announced on Wednesday, the arrest of 10 infiltrators who tried to cross Iraqi territory.
"Via monitoring and follow-up to the detachments of the Military Intelligence Division in the 15th Division; one of the joints of the Military Intelligence Directorate in the Ministry of Defense; and using thermal cameras, a number of people were seen trying to cross the Iraqi borders through the village of Mushairfa that belongs to Rabia district, west of Nineveh, according to a statement by SMC, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The statement included, “a tight ambush was set up for them by the intelligence detachments and a ground force of the 1st Regiment, the 71st Infantry Brigade in the same village, and they were arrested as soon as they crossed the border, which they did, as it turned out that they were an Iraqi family of ten women and children who fled to one of the neighboring countries during the liberation battles,”
They were referred to the concerned authorities to take legal measures against them, added SMC.
