The Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, for the victims of the terrorist attack in Baghdad, stressing that the martyrdom of civilians on the eve of Eid is horrific incident.
The message of condolence published on the Kremlin website: Dear Mr. President, I hope you will accept my deepest condolences for the victims and the tragic consequences of the terrorist attack in Baghdad. The martyrdom of dozens of civilians, including women and children, on the eve of the blessed Eid al-Adha, is appalling and shocking atrocity. We strongly condemn this attack and we hope that the perpetrators will be punished.
Earlier, The Security Media Cell had confirmed that number of civilians were martyred and wounded in the terrorist attack that took place Sunday evening in al-Sadr City.
SMC said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "a terrorist attack took place by the explosion of a homemade IED in Al-Wahailat market in Al-Sadr City, east of Baghdad.
