Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi affirmed on Monday, the keenness to strengthen relations between Iraq and Saudi Arabia .
A statement by the Media Office of the Iraqi Cabinet, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that Al-Kadhimi met the Saudi Minister of Commerce, Majid Al-Qasabi and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the development of bilateral relations between Baghdad and Riyadh, and ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of economy and investment as well as the work on to promote and develop the intraregional-trade movement, overcoming obstacles and delays, and facilitating implementation procedures in a way that enhances bilateral cooperation at various levels.
The statement added that Minister Majid Al-Qasabi conveyed the greetings and congratulations of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman to the Prime Minister, on the occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Adha, and their wishes for further progress and prosperity for the peoples of the two countries.
On his part, Al-Kadhimi welcomed the minister and told him to convey his greetings and congratulations on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince.
The Prime Minister praised the level of relations between the two countries and their keenness to strengthen them, looking forward to more prospects of joint cooperation within the framework of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council, in a manner that achieves the interests of the peoples of the two countries.
