Bashar al-Assad sworn in for fourth presidential term

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was sworn in for a fourth 7-year term, following his winning by the majority of the votes of in the elections that took place on May 26.

According to the Syrian presidency, Assad took the oath of office for another term in the “People’s Palace” in Damascus in the presence of members of the parliament, members of the government, political, and media.
