The Parliamentary Legal Committee announced on Sunday, that important laws will be postponed for the next legislative term, indicating that there is no time to amend or legislate laws including the Law of compensation for those affected.
Committee member MP Hassan Fadam told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that the parliament is in its final days, after the decision to dissolve the parliament and hold early elections, noting that the important laws can be postponed to the next legislative term.
It’s to be mentioned that the Iraqi parliament had voted to dissolve itself on October 7, in preparation for early elections three days later.
Article 64 of the Iraqi constitution states, the parliament may be dissolved by an absolute majority of its members or upon the request of one-third of its members, or the Prime Minister with the consent of the President of the Republic.
