The Ministry of Education announced on Monday that the Iraqi team for the gifted won the bronze medal in the competitions of the Fourth Arab Mathematics Olympiad held in Qatar.
"The Iraqi team for the gifted won the bronze medal for 3rd place in the competitions of the Fourth Arab Mathematics Olympiad held in Qatar, after competing with participants from all Arab countries," according to a statement by the ministry - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The statement added that the arbitration committee "praised the performance of the team of four gifted students, who proved their scientific competence during their first participation in the competition, which lasted for five consecutive days."
The media office conveyed "the congratulations and blessings of the Minister of Education to the team, their families, and the successful school administration, which was able to sharpen and develop their talents scientifically."
The competitors were accompanied by the head of scientific affairs at the Gifted Care Committee, Saadi Muhammed Saadi, and the head of the mathematics department at the Committee, Muhammed Ali Dawood.
