Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein received today, Thursday, a copy of the credentials of the new British ambassador to Baghdad, Mark Bryson, while confirming that the government had taken measures to create a suitable environment for missions to work.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), confirmed that "the two sides discussed ways to strengthen relations between the two countries, and political developments on the regional and international arenas."
Hussein stressed that "the government has begun to take a number of security, technical and organizational measures to create a suitable environment for the work of all missions in Baghdad," noting that "Iraq is seeking to establish the best relations to serve the interests of the two countries."
He expressed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' readiness to provide everything that would make the new British ambassador's work a success in his diplomatic mission, and contribute to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
