Ministry of Migration and Displacement announced on Sunday, forming a joint committee with the Directorate of Civil Status at the Ministry of Interior to issue ID cards for children returning to the country and settled in displacement camps, while revealing that 97 IDs have been issued so far.
Ministry of Immigration Undersecretary, Karim Al-Nouri, stated to Iraqi News Agency (INA): There is a committee formed by the Ministries of Immigration and Interior, to issue ID cards for children of Iraqi parents who returned to Iraq and settled in displacement camps, stressing that whoever is not an Iraqi, will not obtained that ID.
Al-Nouri added that some of the returning children who have lost their ID cards or have not been issued yet, and they are from Iraqi parents, the committee will provide them with a document that will be an ID and a passport for them in the future.
Regarding the of objections by the Yazidi component to the return of Iraqi families from Al-Hol camp, Al-Nuri said: “The Yazidi component has the right to object and inform about those who contributed in the persecution and kidnapping of their children, provided that there is evidence against one of them, but the generalization on all the families is not true, warning that the presence of children outside the country and out of control will expose them to exploitation by international intelligence and terrorist groups and they will be time bombs.
Earlier, the spokesman for the Joint Operations Command, Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji, confirmed to Iraqi News Agency (INA) that Al-Jadaa camp received 94 families returning from al-Hol camp, all of them are Iraqi families who are security-checked.
