    The British Broadcasting Corporation "BBC" conducted a poll to determine the identity of the best European player in the "21st century".
    The Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, the Italian football star of Juventus, was named the best European player of the 21st century, by the public's vote in the BBC poll.

    And the BBC reported that "Ronaldo surpassed the former star of Barcelona and the Spanish national team, Andres Iniesta, after obtaining 56 percent of the mass vote, compared to 44 percent for Iniesta in the final stage of the vote, which was divided into several stages."

    And the network revealed, "Ronaldo swept the vote in the first stage by 78%, and the Croatian, Luka Modric, came second with 11%, followed by the English, Harry Kane, in third place with 9%, while the French, Karim Benzema, was satisfied with fourth, by 2%."
    In the second stage of the voting, Ronaldo beat the French, Thierry Henry, by 57%, and his former Real Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane, by 51%.
    In the semi-final stage, the Portuguese "Madeira missile" outperformed the Italian, Paolo Maldini, former Italy defender, with 62% of the fans' vote.
    While Iniesta passed the first stage by 51%, compared to 27% for the Englishman, Alan Shearer, and the Italian, Francesco Totti, came third, with a score of 17%, and fourth, the Spaniard, David Villa, with 5% of the mass vote.
    In the second stage of the voting, Iniesta swept his compatriot, Xabi Alonso, by 80%, and beat the Dutchman, Dennis Bergkamp, 53%, and swept his former teammate in Barcelona and his compatriot, Xavi Hernandez, by 72% in the semi-final stage of the fans’ vote.
    After that, Ronaldo and Iniesta faced each other in the final vote, in which thousands of BBC followers participated, so that Ronaldo decided to vote in his favour, by 56, and was named the best European player of the twenty-first century.
