Al-Halbousi invites British companies to invest in Iraq

    Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi called, today, Tuesday, for British companies to invest in Iraq and expand the horizons of economic cooperation.

    And the media office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Halbousi received today, the British Minister of Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth and Development Dominic Raab, and the meeting discussed developing bilateral relations and enhancing means of strategic cooperation in the field of security, economy and investment between the two countries, as well as international support." the elections and the regional circumstances surrounding Iraq. 

    He added, "The meeting stressed the importance of the upcoming early elections, the need to create the necessary conditions for them, and to enhance electoral security, whether for the candidate or the voter, as well as the importance of the role of international monitoring to enhance voter confidence in the election results." 

    He added that "the meeting discussed the importance of economic reform and facilitating investment in Iraq, which contributes to providing job opportunities for youth energies and reducing unemployment, and the meeting discussed the importance of continuing cooperation between the two countries in the field of combating terrorism, eliminating ISIS terrorist cells and fighting extremism, supporting stability efforts and the return of the displaced to their homes.".
