Iraq elected an executive member of the Arab Network for Human Rights

    The High Commission for Human Rights announced today, Wednesday, the election of Iraq as an executive member of the Arab Network for Human Rights.

    The commission said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "she was elected as an executive member of the Arab Network for Human Rights in the work of the General Assembly of the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions (the seventeenth) held today, June 2, 2021, via the electronic television circuit. Which was attended by the head of the High Commission for Human Rights in Iraq, Aqil Al-Mansouri Al-Moussawi.

    The commission added, "The meeting's agenda included the ceremony of transferring the presidency of the Arab Network from the State of Palestine to the State of Qatar, discussing the operational work plan of the Arab Network for the year 2021, and the organizational preparations for the holding of the international conference and the sustainable development plan - peace, justice and strong institutions - for the year 2030.  "

     stressed that "the work of the conference was attended by heads and representatives of national human rights institutions in the Arab world (Egypt, Palestine, Sudan, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Tunisia, Morocco, Lebanon, Sultanate of Oman, Algeria, Djibouti, in addition to Iraq). The meeting was also attended by representatives of the League." Al-Arabiya, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the United Nations Development Program, ESCWA and the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions  .
