The United Nations representative in Iraq, Jenin Plaschaert, confirmed today, Saturday, that the Iraqi government is the best one to meet the requirements of citizens, noting that the international organization is looking forward to continuing cooperation with it to provide humanitarian services in cooperation with civil society organizations.
In her speech during the Fourth Conference of Civil Society Organizations, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Plasschaert said: "The international community is confident that the Iraqi government is the best to meet the requirements of its citizens, and that the government has a leading role in managing matters and is moving forward to implement development in the country."
She added that "the United Nations office provided humanitarian services to Iraq in cooperation with civil society organizations, which included 24 million Iraqis."
And Plaschaert added that "the United Nations office aims to strengthen the capabilities that civil society organizations possess to achieve their curricula, and we seek to develop the capabilities of these organizations and strengthen the partnership so that services can be implemented for those in need."
