Speaker of Parliament Muhammad Al-Halbousi affirmed today, Tuesday, Iraq's firm position on the Palestinian issue, while the head of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, Muhammad Baqir Qalibaf, invited Iraq to participate in the extraordinary meeting on Palestine.

The media office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi received today a call from the head of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, Muhammad Baqir Qalibaf,” indicating that “the two parties exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Fitr, And wishes that God bless the two countries with security and stability. "

He added that "during the call, discussions were held about developments in the Palestinian issue, and the need for efforts by Islamic parliaments to take a serious position regarding the situation in Palestine," noting that "Qalibaf invited Iraq to participate in the extraordinary meeting hosted by the Islamic Republic of Iran for the Palestine Committee in the Union." The councils of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, to discuss the use of parliamentary diplomatic capabilities to support the Palestinian cause, and put an immediate end to the attacks of the occupying entity against the Palestinian people.
