The Independent High Electoral Commission has renewed its commitment to hold the elections as scheduled, while confirming that it continues its steps to prepare for the voting stage.
The Commission said in the weekly speech, which the Iraqi News Agency (INA) received, a copy of it, today, Sunday, “At a time when the commission stresses that the date for the election of the Iraqi parliament on October 10, 2021 is inevitable and does not retract it, confirming that it continues Its steps and preparations for the polling phase after the end of the voter registration update period and the Board of Commissioners ’issuance of its decision to suspend the biometric registration process until the completion of early parliamentary elections.
"The Commission will proceed to prepare a solid voter register, which will be printed at the Iraqi Media Network Press, according to the approval of the Council of Ministers during its session held on 4/27/2021, and in the manner of direct contracting to print the final public and private voter register, the candidates' booklet, and (poster) the voter register, And authorizing the Election Commission to negotiate and directly contract with a sober international company to print and prepare ballot papers and forms for the House of Representatives elections / 2021, with an exception from the instructions for implementing government contracts and the controls attached to them.
