President Barham Salih asserted that Iraq will not be a place for attacking any of the neighboring countries, or to be a battlefield to settle revenges, according to a statement by the presidency media office to Iraqi News Agency INA.
This came during a meeting between the President and the Jordanian Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi and the accompanying delegation.
The statement added that Safadi conveyed to President Salih the greetings of King Abdullah II and his affirmation of supporting Iraq’s security and stability as a pillar of the regional security, as well as the king's inquiry about the health of Supreme Religious Authority, Marja’, His Eminence Ali Sistani and his wishes for him of health and wellness.
According to the statement, President Salih stressed the necessity of consolidating the foundations of peace and stability in the region and avoiding the futility of wars and conflicts that drain human and material energies, and adopt serious and frank dialogues to deal with crises.
