Iraq and Germany discuss the withdrawal of foreign troops

    INA - BAGHDAD

    Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi and the German envoy discussed Iraq’s decision regarding the withdrawal of foreign troops.

    This came during a meeting between PM Abdul Mahdi and the German government envoy, the political director of the German Foreign Ministry, Philip Ackerman while the German ambassador to Iraq, Ole Diehl also attended the meeting, included a statement by the media office to Iraqi News Agency INA.

    During the meeting, they discussed the relations between the two countries, recent updates in Iraq and the region in addition to the ways of cooperation to reach a truce, reduce tensions and remove the danger of war from the region and the world.

    They included the exchange of views around Iraq’s vision for the future of cooperation with Arab, regional and international surroundings in order to maintain security and national sovereignty.

    One of the main files discussed as well was Iraq’s decision regarding the withdrawal of foreign troops, and the desire to keep the ongoing cooperation in terms of training Iraqi forces, counter-terrorism, and combating the remnants of Daesh.
