Justice Minister Farouq al-Shawani on Sunday discussed with Canadian Ambassador Paul Gibbard the importance of joint cooperation in human rights and the exchange of experiences fields.
A statement by the ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that Shwani called for the importance of serious cooperation between government and the Canadian Ministry of Justice in aspects that contribute in strengthening the frameworks and the exchange of expertise, noting that" the ministry is in the process of shifting from the paper system to electronic to keep up with global development.
For his part, the Canadian ambassador praised the great role played by Iraq in combating extremism through victories over terrorist gangs, stressing the importance of the Iraqi government to continue its approach in establishing peace in the region and supporting the human rights file in various fields, especially the role of Iraqi women in building society and the future generations.
