The Arab Parliament called on the international community, on Saturday, to assume historical responsibility and lift the injustice against the Palestinian people.

"On the occasion of the 107th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, we call on the international community and the British government to assume historical responsibility and lift the injustice that befell the Palestinian people on the tragic anniversary of this ominous promise, in which the British Foreign Secretary gave what he did not own to those who did not deserve it," stated the Arab Parliament in a statement - followed by the Iraqi News Agency - INA, stressing that "this promise caused the violation of the inherent and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and the displacement of the owners of the land, as well as depriving them of their legitimate rights."

The statement added that "the Arab Parliament calls on the international community to recognize the State of Palestine with the city of Al-Quds as its capital, and to immediately stop the occupation's aggression against the Palestinian people."

On this occasion, the Arab Parliament stressed that "the only way to achieve security, stability and peace in the region is to end the Zionist occupation and recognize the Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital, by international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative."

The Arab Parliament condemned "the continued aggression of the occupation on the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories," stressing that "what is happening is a war of genocide, a full-fledged war crime according to international law and humanitarian law. It is a flagrant violation of international charters, norms and the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Civilians in War."

The Arab Parliament renewed "its support for the Palestinian people in regaining their legitimate rights, including the right of return and establishing their independent state with Al-Quds as its capital," calling on "the international community, the Security Council, and international, human rights organizations to assume their responsibilities, implement the rules of international law, and international legitimacy resolutions that support the rights of the Palestinians and their right to self-determination and the establishment of their state. It also called on countries that have not yet recognized the Palestinian state to recognize it."

The statement included, "We must work to end the occupation immediately, provide civil protection for the defenseless Palestinian people, and pressure the occupying entity to stop the war of genocide, forced displacement, ethnic cleansing, and the systematic destruction of the lives of the Palestinian people."
