The speaker of the House of Representatives Mohammed AlHalbousi that Iraq has achieved stability and victory over terrorist organizations and will work hard to activate its role as an active member and founder of the Arab League. AlHalbousi received the Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, in the presence of a number of members of the Foreign Relations Committee, Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali al-Hakim and a number of ministry officials,his office said in a statement.
He added that the meeting discussed the importance of activating the role of the Arab League to support Iraq's efforts in the face of terrorism, and urged the Arab countries to fulfill their stated commitments, implement all relevant resolutions on Iraq, and have an active role in addressing Arab and regional crises.
