The Ministry of Interior announced, today, Saturday, the extinguishing of a fire that broke out in a stationery warehouse on Al-Mutanabbi Street in central Baghdad.
The ministry said in a statement - received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Civil defense teams were able to extinguish a fire that broke out in a two-story warehouse designated for stationery and books in the Al-Mutanabbi Street area in central Baghdad, with the participation of ten specialized firefighting teams and other support teams without recording any human injuries, while reducing material damage to a minimum."
The statement added that "initial information indicates that the fire broke out as a result of an electrical short circuit, and immediately the civil defense teams intervened, where they were able to control the fire and isolate the damaged warehouses from the surrounding areas," stressing that "the firefighting teams completed the extinguishing and cooling operations in record time."
