The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, congratulated Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on his government gaining confidence today, Friday.
The official spokesman for the Secretary-General of the League, Jamal Rushdi, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Aboul Gheit expressed his congratulations to the Lebanese Prime Minister on the occasion of his government gaining the confidence of the Lebanese Parliament, wishing him success in implementing the important goals included in the government's ministerial statement."
He explained that "Aboul Gheit considered that the confidence obtained by the new government constitutes an important start for the new era with what it carries of the aspirations of the Lebanese people, after the difficult stage it went through during the past years, which hindered the implementation of fundamental reforms and did not enable Lebanon to recover its health yet."
