The Central Criminal Court announced today, Sunday that it had issued three 15-year prison sentences against a convict.
A statement by the Supreme Judicial Council, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the Central Criminal Court issued three 15-year prison sentences against a convict who carried out three operations in Maysan Governorate in 2022," indicating that "the convict formed an armed gang, through which he targeted the Lebanese University Hospital, in addition to targeting a factory and a citizen's home in the governorate."
The statement added that "the sentences against him were issued in accordance with the provisions of Article 4/1 and in light of Article 2/1 and 3 of the Anti-Terrorism Law No. 13 of 2005 and in reference to the provisions of Article 132/1 of the Penal Code."
