Al-Mandalawi: We affirm our backing for efforts aimed at improving Iraq's security and stability

    The First Deputy Speaker of the parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, congratulated on Thursday the members of the Iraqi police, commanders, officers and ranks, in various formations, on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the establishment of the Iraqi police, stressing his support for efforts to enhance security and stability in Iraq.
     
     In a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), al-Mandalawi praised "the great sacrifices of police personnel and their heroic role in fighting alongside their brothers from the heroes of the Iraqi army, the Popular Mobilization Forces and the rest of the security services in the fight against terrorism, in addition to their vital tasks in maintaining the security of citizens and running their affairs in various departments of the Ministry of Interior."
     
     He pointed to "the commitment of the parliament to support the Ministry of Interior and enhance its capabilities to enable it to perform its duties to the fullest, especially in the field of combating crimes that threaten the security of society, foremost of which is the fight against drugs and organized crime in all its forms."
     
     
    He reiterated his "support for all efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in Iraq," expressing "his wishes for more success and progress for the Iraqi police in performing its national mission, mercy for the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defense of the homeland, and a speedy recovery for the wounded."
