Syria: Assad continues work and national constitutional duties from Damascus

The Syrian Presidency confirmed on Saturday that President Bashar Al-Assad is following up on his work and constitutional duties from Damascus.

"Some foreign media are spreading rumors and false news about President Bashar al-Assad leaving Damascus, or making quick visits to one country or another," said a statement by the Presidency of the Republic, quoting the official Syrian Agency - SANA - followed up by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

SANA added, "The Presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic denies all those rumors and points out blatant goals," stressing that "they are not new, but rather those media have previously followed this pattern of attempts to mislead and influence the Syrian state and society throughout the past years of war."

"The President is following up on his work, national tasks and constitutional duties from the capital, Damascus," noted the statement, stressing that "all news, activities and positions related to President Al-Assad are issued from the platforms of the Presidency of the Republic and the Syrian national media."
