President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed today, Saturday, that the martyrs live in the conscience of the nation with all its components, noting that the lesson that history preserves for the heroes is the great insistence of the people for democracy and preventing the return to monopolization of power.
A statement by the Presidency of the Republic - received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) - stated that "President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid inaugurated the monument to the martyr Talib Al-Suhail.".
The statement added that "the President delivered a speech during the opening ceremony in the city of Kadhimiya in which he stressed that "the establishment of this monument is an expression of the people's appreciation and pride in the sacrificing martyrs who live in the conscience of the nation with its various components," noting that "the lesson that history preserves for these heroes is the great insistence of the people for democracy and preventing the return to monopolization of power, tyranny and dictatorship that brought calamities upon the people and the country.
" The statement continued, "The opening ceremony was attended by the Speaker of Parliament Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, the head of the National Wisdom Movement, Mr. Ammar Al-Hakim, the former Prime Minister Iyad Allawi, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning Muhammad Tamim, Mr. Hussein Muhammad Hadi Al-Sadr, and the family of the martyr Talib Al-Suhail, in addition to a number of officials and social figures."
