The mayor of Al-Qaim district in Anbar province, Turki Muhammad Khalif Al-Mahlawi, announced the return of 2,500 Lebanese to their country within two days.
Al-Mahlawi said in a special statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The return of the Lebanese from Iraq to their country has begun through the Qaim border crossing after the ceasefire decision," noting that "the number of returnees in the past two days has reached (2,500) Lebanese citizens who are guests of Iraq."
The statement explained that "the local government in Anbar has provided great facilities for the returnees," noting that "the Ministry of Immigration has provided special buses to transport them and provide all the requirements they need."
