Lebanese MP Hassan Ezz El-Din, from the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc, thanked Iraq, its government and its people, today, Thursday, for its position in receiving Lebanese guests and providing them with all assistance. He also touched on the political file in his country and said that Suleiman Franjieh is among the candidates for the position of president.
Ezz El-Din told the Iraqi News Agency - followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Iraq, the government and people, embraced the Lebanese guests and provided all support, and we thank them in the name of Lebanon. Iraq is always the first to extend a helping hand to the Lebanese people."
He added, "The Zionist enemy committed crimes against the Lebanese and destroyed the infrastructure in its war, and the ceasefire agreement did not affect Lebanese sovereignty, and the committee formed for it will monitor any violations."
In the political file, he confirmed that "the session to elect the President of the Lebanese Republic will be on January 9, and it was expected that there would be political and security stability to work on electing the President of the Republic."
He explained that "all previous candidates for the presidency of the Lebanese Republic did not come with a parliamentary majority, and currently, Suleiman Franjieh is the candidate of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc and its allies for the presidency of the republic."
