Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani chaired, today, Sunday, the periodic meeting of the Supreme Committee for the Restructuring of State-Owned Public Companies.
The Prime Minister's Media Office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani chaired today, Sunday, the regular meeting of the Higher Committee for Restructuring State-Owned Public Companies, attended by the Ministers of Oil, Electricity, Transportation, Trade, Construction Housing Municipalities and Public Works, Agriculture, Water Resources, and Communications.
The meeting reviewed the actions and steps taken by relevant authorities in light of previous resolutions. Discussions included the status of public companies proposed for liquidation, mechanisms for their dissolution, and supporting resolutions for this process. The meeting also explored the potential merger of several Ministry of Trade companies and the reclassification of certain companies under the Ministry of Water Resources.
The committee reviewed the progress on restructuring companies under the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Public Works: Hammurabi, Ashur, Al-Faw, and Al-Farouq.
Additionally, the meeting approved the minutes and recommendations of the second meeting of the subcommittee overseeing the classification of companies according to categories specified in the Higher Committee for Restructuring State-Owned Public Companies Decision No. 1 of 2024.
