Outgoing US President Joe Biden said today, Thursday, that he had given instructions to his administration to facilitate the transfer of power to the administration of US President-elect Trump, stressing that he congratulated him on the victory.
“I will continue to work for the remaining 74 days of my presidency,” Biden said in a statement.
“I spoke to Trump and congratulated him on his victory and assured him that I will direct my administration to work with his team to ensure a smooth transition of power.”
He added, “I have instructed my administration to facilitate a smooth transition of power to the Trump administration,” stressing that “there will be a peaceful transition of power in our country on January 20.”
He continued, “We will leave behind the world’s greatest economy and the results and changes will bear fruit.”
He concluded by saying, “We have lost this battle and setbacks are inevitable and we cannot give up and we must remain engaged and move forward.”
