The Middle East Forum 2024 sessions launched on Tuesday, under the title of Good Governance and Prosperity.
The correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said: "The sessions of the Middle East Forum 2024 began today under the title of Good Governance and Prosperity, the leading annual event for political dialogue in Iraq, and mainly addresses Iraq's current policy priorities, the ever-changing regional dynamics, and the opportunities for international participation and cooperation."
He added, "The forum was attended by senior leaders and politicians in Iraq, most notably the President of the Region Nechirvan Barzani, the Prime Minister of the Regional Government Masrour Barzani, the head of the National Wisdom Movement, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, Pavel Talabani, Muthanna al-Samarrai, the UN envoy Mohammed al-Hassan, and the US Ambassador to Iraq."
In turn, the head of the European Union mission in Iraq, Thomas Seiler, said: "Because of the situation in the region, we were not able to perform our tasks better," noting that "the European Union did not reduce financial aid to the countries of the region."
For his part, the Austrian ambassador to Iraq, Andrea Nasi, explained in a speech during the forum that "Austria works with the Iraqi government in several common areas, including the issue of water."
In addition, the Dutch ambassador to Iraq, Janet Alberda, stressed that "the existence of a stable and secure Iraq is in the interest of the international community," indicating that "Iraq and the Kurdistan Region must be partners with us."
